WTSA Privacy Policy

This privacy notice sets out how Warrington Teaching School Alliance (WTSA) uses and protects any information that you give WTSA when taking part in a WTSA led project or activity.

WTSA is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

WTSA may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.

Why do we collect and use your information?

We collect and use your information under Article 6.1b of the GDPR (Processing is necessary for completion of a contract).

For WTSA led activities we will use your data:

  • to contact you regarding courses or projects you have expressed interest in
  • to contact you on upcoming projects or courses that you may be interested in
  • contact you during the application of the bid
  • to update you on the project
  • to notify you of training and other events in relation to the project
  • to monitor performance and impact of the project

For externally funded projects we will use your data:

The categories of information that we collect, hold and share include:

We may collect the following information:

  • name and job title
  • contact information (phone number, email address, school associated with)

For externally funded projects we may ask for information relating to engagement and performance as per the conditions of the project, you will be notified of this at the beginning of the process.

  • Personal information (such as lead contact name, email address, phone number)
  • Attendance information (such as training attended, participation in project)
  • Performance Information (such as in-year teacher assessment and statutory end of key stage assessment)
  • Photographs of the training sessions or work undertaken as part of the project

Collecting information

For WTSA led activities the information you have provided is voluntary and by sharing the information you have allowed us to contact you regarding your enquiry.

For externally funded projects, the majority of information you provide to us is not classed as personal data but is required for the application of the project and for the monitoring of performance and impact throughout the duration of the project. Where we ask for personal information, we will inform you whether you are required to provide certain information to us or if you have a choice in this.

Storing data

We hold the information you supply securely within a restricted access part of the WPAT network. This access is limited to WTSA office staff and WPAT office staff. It is routinely backed up each night and these backups are kept for 90 days. All data in the backups is encrypted and on two different servers, both held within the UK.

Unless asked to do so earlier, we will hold your data for a period of two years from the end of the project or activity before it is deleted. We will contact you before your information is removed to ask if you would like to continue to receive emails from us.

Who do we share information with?

We will not share or sell information gathered for any WTSA activity or project with any 3rd Parties without your express permission.

In some circumstances related to externally funded projects, WTSA are asked to share details of schools who deliver and take part in projects. In cases where it is a requirement to share personal information, it will be communicated to you at the start of the project. All information is shared via Teaching School monitoring and evaluation processes managed by the Teaching School accrediting body.

Requesting access to your personal data

Under GDPR, you have the right to request access to the personal information that we hold about you. To do this, you must make the request in writing to info@wpat.warrington.sch.uk. We will require identification before we can look into your request.
